Philip Adelberg was a hunter, fisherman and farmer who lived on his homestead at Rolla, near Dawson Creek, in northeastern BC. This photograph dates from about 1915, and shows Adelberg with his dog and pet bear cub, and his sod-roofed log cabin. He was the first Justice of the Peace on the BC side of the Peace River district, with the Province of Alberta being just to the east.
